Salary: up to £50,000 depending on experience

Role Overview
We’re hiring a DevOps Engineer to take ownership of our infrastructure and work closely with our development team to improve how we build, deploy and scale our systems.
This role sits at the intersection of development and operations, with a strong focus on automation, reliability and performance across our high-traffic e-commerce platforms.
You’ll play a key role in evolving our DevOps capability, helping to streamline deployments, improve system resilience and reduce manual processes through infrastructure as code and modern tooling.
This is not a traditional system administration role. We’re looking for someone with an engineering mindset who enjoys building, automating and improving systems rather than maintaining them.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain scalable and reliable infrastructure
- Develop and improve CI/CD pipelines to support efficient software delivery
- Build and maintain infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform and Ansible
- Work closely with developers to improve deployment processes, performance and reliability
- Monitor system performance and availability using tools such as Prometheus and Grafana
- Lead incident response and contribute to post-incident reviews
- Automate repetitive processes and reduce manual intervention
- Improve system resilience, scalability and fault tolerance
- Support security, backups and system hardening
- Document systems and processes to support knowledge sharing
Skills & Experience
- Experience in a DevOps or similar engineering-focused role working with production systems
- Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform or Ansible
- Experience working with containerised environments such as Docker or Kubernetes
- Experience building or supporting CI/CD pipelines
- Strong understanding of Linux environments
- Scripting experience such as Bash or Python
- Understanding of system reliability, monitoring and performance optimisation
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset
- Confident communicator able to work effectively across teams
- Experience supporting high-traffic or e-commerce platforms (desirable)
- Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD, Helm or ClickHouse (desirable)
- Experience with monitoring and observability tooling (desirable)
- Experience working in fintech, e-commerce or similar fast-paced environments (desirable)
