Frontend Developer

Job Introduction

JQB's well-established software development team is looking to add an experienced Frontend Developer to enable them to deliver new features and services to their growing multinational customer base.

Role Responsibility

Website development and maintenance:

  • Deliver website functionality in collaboration with the wider team.
  • Contribute features and fixes to our websites.
  • Understand and suggest UX decisions.
  • Write and maintain documentation for tooling, processes, and procedures.

Technical proficiency:

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of our frontend technology stack.
  • Be proficient with parts of the stack required for day-to-day tasks.
  • Maintain up-to-date awareness of web performance, security considerations, and defensive coding techniques.

Team collaboration:

  • Conduct manual and automated testing of personal work and that of team members.
  • Conduct reviews of your work and that of team members.
  • Provide support and guidance, share knowledge, and mentor team members in technologies and processes.

Organisational awareness:

  • Understand the team's priorities, conventions, standards, and processes.
  • Have an awareness of the business's products, services, and the key stakeholders in each department.
  • Communicate with users across the business regarding deployments and support requests.
  • Support users in utilising features across websites and administration systems.

Personal development:

  • Utilise training time effectively to enhance both technical and human skills.
  • Align with the vision, values, and direction of the business and the department.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is technically proficient with HTML, CSS, and especially JavaScript. They are willing to learn enough Python and Django to connect their work to the backend, and must possess a solid background in developing, testing, and maintaining websites or web applications.

The role requires a strong collaborator and communicator capable of working with other team members, handling code reviews, and discussing technical details with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Package Description

  • Basic salary up to £55,000.
  • Employee bonus scheme up to 10%.
  • 10% training time and budget for skills development.

Please note this is a remote-first role but you are required to live and work within the UK.​ This role does not qualify for visa sponsorship, all applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK.
