Role Overview
We’re hiring an Inventory & Stock Control Analyst to play a critical role in safeguarding the accuracy, valuation, and integrity of our bullion stock.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role sits at the intersection of Finance, Systems, and Operations, working closely with Finance, Operations, and Buying & Merchandising teams. It is a desk-based, analytical role focused on reconciliation, reporting, and control within a high-transaction, high-value environment.
This is not a warehouse or logistics role. We’re looking for someone with strong experience in stock systems, financial reconciliation, and data-led investigation, who can confidently own discrepancies from system to root cause and resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain reconciliations of metal accounts held with suppliers
- Review refining results to ensure accuracy and support improvements in internal assaying processes
- Own and complete weekly and quarterly stock counts, investigating discrepancies and updating systems accordingly
- Review stock control processes alongside the Operations Manager and Finance Manager to ensure best practice and efficiency
- Maintain accurate stock valuation, movement, and audit data within ERP and financial systems
- Monitor the quality, accuracy, and integrity of stock received from suppliers
- Support the preparation of stock information for internal and external audits
- Build upon and enhance existing stock and reconciliation reports to identify trends and issues
- Identify, investigate, and resolve system-based stock discrepancies across ERP and finance platforms
- Produce clear and accurate management information to support Finance and Buying & Merchandising decision-making
Skills & Experience
- Experience controlling stock in a high-transaction, high-value environment with system accountability
- Proven ability to independently investigate discrepancies across systems and financial records
- Strong experience working with ERP and inventory management systems
- Understanding of stock accounting, valuation, and reconciliation principles
- High level of comfort working with financial data, reports, and audit controls
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, SUMIFs, IF statements, data manipulation)
- Strong analytical mindset with professional scepticism and attention to detail
- Confidence challenging anomalies and following issues through to resolution
- High levels of integrity, discretion, and accountability
- Experience using Power Query, Power BI, SQL, or Access for reporting and analysis (desirable)
- Background in bullion, jewellery, e-commerce, or other high-value goods (desirable)
- Degree in a numerate discipline (desirable, not essential)
Why You’ll Love It Here
- A high-ownership role where your work directly impacts financial accuracy, stock integrity, and business confidence
- Close, trusted collaboration with Finance, Oper, and Commercial teams, not siloed, not transactional
- Real opportunity to shape processes, controls, and reporting, not just maintain them
- Exposure to a high-value, high-transaction environment where detail and judgement genuinely matter
- A culture built on Integrity, Agility, Ambition, Clarity, and Efficiency, with high standards and accountability
About You
You’ll thrive in this role if you:
- Are detail-obsessed and comfortable working with complex data
- Enjoy investigating issues and getting to the root cause
- Take pride in accuracy, controls, and doing things properly
- Are confident working independently while collaborating cross-functionally
- Understand that strong stock control underpins trust, performance, and growth
